XTC - Strange Tales (1983)

The next installment of the XTC rarities posts covers the years 1981 to 1983, and includes numerous b-sides, some more of the 'Homo Safari' series of instrumentals, and the rare Flexipop flexidisc of 'Looking For Footprints'. Not much else to say about this brilliant band, other than enjoy the music.

    I'm glad to see you're doing this. My interest in XTC doesn't run this deep. But what about incorporating songs from Andy Partridge's Fuzzy Warbles series as you keep going? Most of those are XTC songs in every way.

      This series could run, as the three volumes only go up to 1988, so I might keep going and then meet up with 'Fuzzy Warbles' along the way.

    Thanks for these. The compilations are so strong that you wonder why official versions don’t exist – the comps that came closest, 1982’s “Beeswax” and 1990’s “Rag and Bone Buffet” are long deleted. Anyway, you have saved me the hassle of digitally converting these tunes from my old vinyl, so thanks again! Have you considered including “Traffic Light Rock”, which appeared on the Virgin 1977 10” sampler “Guillotine” on a later volume?
