Ricky Gervais / Stephen Merchant / Karl Pilkington - The Ricky Gervais Show - Series Two (2006)

Series two of The Ricky Gervais Show podcast began on 28 February 2006, and consisted of six episodes, with the final one released on 4 April 2006. The series saw the return of Karl's Diary and Rockbusters, as well as a new, although short-lived, feature to replace Pilkington's 'Monkey News', called 'Real Monkey News', where Gervais attempted to present information about chimpanzees which was factual and scientific.
With the start of series two, the formerly free Ricky Gervais Show shifted to a pay model – and as a result the show is now classified as an audiobook. The reason for this, according to Gervais on the podcast, is because The Guardian agreed to pay for the bandwidth for the first twelve episodes, and any more shows would have to be paid for out of their personal finances.
