I don't know what's going on with Soulseek at the moment, but there seem to be a lot of people who can no longer see my albums on it, which is strange as there are still loads who can, and are able to download them. I did change my broadband supplier a month ago, but I'm pretty sure this was happening before then, so I've spent an hour looking at port forwarding, but I came away none the wiser. I used to be able to see my own albums on another laptop (it appears that you can't search yourself for some reason), but I can no longer find them either, so something is definitely wrong. If anyone has any suggestions, or if the same thing has happened to them and they found a solution, then please let us all know. In the meantime, Mega links are available at the email address on the right for anyone who can suddenly no longer access my files.

I am glad it isn't just me who can't access your files. FYI - I also tried to access your files via Nicotine+ and I still couldn't. I know that Soulseek has a support group on Telegram so might be worth joining that.

I had this problem a while ago and Port Forwarding solved it. However about 6-9 months ago it came back and even more random. What I find I have to do is completely close down Soulseek and restart it (check with Task Manager it is gone.) I am guessing its to do with some variables or stored value and stopping/starting clears it. Hope this helps is of help.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I am using SS for 20 odd years, and every now and again it asks me to login again, and eveything is wiped. Also there is another slight issue.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I can chat with someone, but not search their list of folders. No connection can be made, is the message I get.
For some users it lasts years, for others days. it is one of the mysteries of SS.
A solution can be in communication. When someone asks for an album, and I cannot send it through SS, I use Imagenetz, mediafire, wetransfer (other hosts are available) and send the link through the chat.
