If you’ve ever wondered what the Yardbirds’ first album would have sounded like if Eric Clapton had stayed around long enough to record it all, then wonder no longer. Clapton famously left halfway through the recording due to artistic differences, and was replaced by Jeff Beck. We didn't actually get this album here in the UK, as it was a US only release, and included their singles so far and a mixture of Clapton and Beck sides, but this collection is just the tracks that Clapton recorded before he left, when he felt the band were losing their blues roots and going too commercial.

I've been on a discography fix kick lately trying to tidy up my library and your construction here was the key to solving the Yardbirds puzzle. I ended up with two lps each for Clapton, Beck and Page and an "odds & Sods" leftovers lp. I had my own '68 lp (never posted it) and moved the Beck tunes from For Your Love, plus a couple more, to side two of Having a Rave Up after removing the duplicated tracks from Five Live Yaydbirds. So thanks so much or this.
