The Yardbirds - A Yardbirds-eye View Of Beat (1968)

The Yardbirds recorded quite a lot of material for the follow-up to their debut album ‘Roger The Engineer’, but then Jeff Beck was sacked on their American tour for constant no-shows, and the recordings were shelved. Mickie Most was brought in to try to get the band some exposure, and they recorded such uncharacteristic songs as 'Ha Ha Said The Clown', 'Little Games', and 'Goodnight Sweet Josephine'. Meanwhile, all the good stuff was shelved and only showed up 50 years later on remastered re-issues. I think that if they had put these tracks out in 1967/1968 then their reputation as one of the best psychedelic rock bands around would have continued a bit longer.
